April

This month we will be talking to the children about Spring, transport and travel and the colour greem, children may bring in a green item from home for the display table. Please send in something that is not valuable as it can be broken or lost.

Attached to the news sheets each month is a copy of the songs and rhymes that we do. Please encourage your child to repeat these at home and talk about the above topics.

We would also appreciate if children could bring in pictures of newborn animals, flowers etc, anything that happens in Spring for our display

Chloe has been coming on placement for 1 day a week from the North West College, Monday the 31st March was her last day and on behalf of the staff and parents and children we thank her for all her help and wish her every success in her career

The committee is considering booking the Early Years Outing to the Folk Park at the end of April. More details and consent forms will be sent out later.

Creation Station will be coming on the 10th and 17th April to have some messy fun - we would love it if a few parents would be around to lend a hand during this workshop

The world around us - Children will be encourage to use their senses to investigate and describe everyday objects and events. Show care for living things and the environement, to handle natural materials withh curiosity such as shells, leave and stones.

We also welcome all the new children that have started in January, this is the last intake until September

Just to remind parents that children can pick up information in the playgroup and possibly in the wrong context and go home and tell you about it. Please talk to the leader if you have any concerns on the matter. Confidentiality is paramount in playgroup; this is one of our policies. Individual children should not be discussed outside playgroup, either by parents / carers or other children. Our children do not understand the importance of this so please encourage your children not to talk in a negative way about other children

News & Events

Creative Station - 10th & 17th April

Creative Station will come to Rascals to do Little Explorer Workshops with the Children, workshops specially designed to engage

children of pre school age in arts and crafts. Lots of Messy Fun!

Volunteers

At this time of year we would welcome anyone who has ten to fifteen minutes of spare time to come into the playgroup and share their talents with the children e.g. music, storytelling, craft or cookery. Also anyone in a profession e.g. nurse, vet, hairdresser, beautician, fire service or postman. Children like to see someone different talking to them.

Questionnaires

Questionnaires will be given out to each family shortly. It is important that we get your views on aspects of the playgroup and the service we provide so that we can meet your child’s needs. Please complete the questionnaire and put it in the envelope in the lobby
